During the 1977, the year of Niki Lauda’s second World Championship, theScuderia Ferrari, under the guidance of Mauro Forghieri, designed a 6 wheels car. The six-wheeled 312 T2 had paired double rear wheels. The idea behind Forghieri's project was probably the reduction of total aero drag, with front tires at the back instead of the regularly sized rear wheels, which of course, were enormous in the ‘70s. This prototype was tested by Niki Lauda during a test session in the Pista di Fiorano circuit, but this particular model never ran in a race. A model in 1:43 scale belonging to a car collection that is sure to please!
